Teaching with Aleut Story
Aleut Story premiered in November 2005 on national public television and at major film festivals across the United States and Europe. Since then, the film has received critical praise and found increasing popularity in classrooms of all kind.
A new curriculum designed for use with the film is now available on the Teacher’s Guide page.
The Unit Plan, offered here at no cost, includes an overview, viewing guide and individual lesson plans. Links to primary documents are provided. An extensive list of additional resources may be found on the Bibliography page.
A copy of Aleut Story may be recorded off-air and used free in the classroom for one year. A DVD of Aleut Story licensed for educational use may be ordered online at visionmaker.org, a service of Native American Public Telecommunications (NAPT), which is funded, in part, by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
